Back in Europe.

I know. I am absoloutly the world's worst blogger. But what can I do? The computer and cyber world is not really getting too much of my attention when there's so much to see in a place like South-America. But I'm back now. Back in Amsterdam. I decided to delay my university studies again and follow my heart. So here I am, broke, homeless and unemployd. And the party starts.
But I will reviel a little bit in bigger pieces about the journy in general, because this was one hell of a trip.
Last time I wrote, I was in Rio de Janeiro. So. Like I said a fantastic place, very beautiful and with a lot to offer. We lived like queens in this big appartement, went around like proper tourists and had no problems what so ever. After Rio we went to Sao Paulo. Totally the opposite of Rio. Too big. The city is like a dragon. Getting from onw place to the other takes ages and nothing really cought my attention too much. Although I think that if you have time, money and knowlage of where to go and when. You could probably enjoy staying there. The gap between rich and poor is too big. If you we'd want to eat a proper food and not worry about food poisoning, we'd gone broke after two days. And if you want to go out and feel relatively safe, you'd be broke after the night. So after a few days we decided to head straight out to Buenos Aires. After endless search for a good way to go there we figured we'd take the bus. 36 hours and voila! This vity is really fucking charming. I rally enjoyd it's culture, tango class, lecker stake and delicious red wine. Although there was one black spot in that perfect picture. Our second last day after a lovely stroll in the historic area, La Boca, taking beautiful pictures in the romantic cold. We were walking towards the metro in a not so crowded street, yes I know very stupid. We were followd by two guys who stole my camera and beat Luis in the head so he ended on the ground. We reported it to the police but I don't think they really give a shit about one tourist's camera. The report probably ended in the garbage that same night. But we survived and we were lucky we didn't get hurt. Then after Buenos Aires we visited Rosario. Cute town but very very dead at this time of year. And after we went to Mendoza. Where we stayed in a hostel with free wine. Of course like the owner sayed, very chubby and funny guy, "the first night you go crazy and drink too much and after you don't even want to hear about it" I guess he was right in a way. Mendoza is beautiful and extreamely cold at this time of year. It has a lot of winter sports and activities available but we ended up in the mountains enjoying the natural hot water spa.
From Mendoza we took the bus over the mountains and walked in snow in beginning of july to go to Santago, Chile. We didn't stay there very long, which is a shame because it is a very interesting and beautiful city. Chile has what I've seen the most brilliant sunsets. There we celibrated Luis's birthday with a bottle of champagne and a jacuzzi. Getting tired of the cold we went up north again and celebrated my birthday in a smaller town by the beach, Vina del Mar. Also a very pleasent day. Then we went to La Serena where the frickin' cold greeted us early in the morning. From there we took a small trio to the mountains to this astronomigcal point with a guide and a peak in a telescope to see the stars. Amazing.
After La Serena we wanted to go to one beautiful beach but went too far with the bus so we ended up in a relatively interesting city, Antofagasta. Probably more alive in the summer. Still too cold. So we ran straight to Arica, the northest city in Chile where the warmth finally greeted us. We spent there 3 days. Very charming town.
Then, next destination. Peru. Of course the most memorable saight in Peru is Machu piccu. One of the world's wonders. A bit hard to get there, a bus after a taxi, then a train and finally 6 km walk up the ridicoulusly steep stairs up to the wonder. after one hour of walking and sweating we forgot every thing because it was really like a dream place. So beautiful.
Of course we also visited Lima for a few days and then Troijllho, a very small and boring town with more taxi's than habitants. TAXI TAXI! We were just about to go insane. Also people selling on the street are very agressive. But it's funny to see. I loved to see, more in the countryside, all the women wearing the traditional outfit. They were all the same. Amazing.
When we were done with Peru our time was getting very short. But I was determined to go and see my friend Paola in Colombia. So again in the bus, but this time, we stayed more or less in a bus for 4 days. I have never ever slept so good like in Paola's place when we arrived. And I don't have mention the shower. I felt like I was in heaven.
The days in Bucaramanga, Colombia was definatily one of the high points in the journy. Her family and friends are too welcoming and generous. Their sence of humour is tremendous and they are always in good spirit. The food there is delicious and you can for sure not blame these people for eating alot, it's just too good. I think if I had satyed there longer I would have rolled out of the country. We had good times, paragliding and seeing the amazing canion not far from the city but also worse times as well when we had a car crash on our back. Nobody got hurt but the car was smashed. No way trying to drive that thing afterwards. Our stay in colombia was definatly colorful and when we were leaving to Bogota to catch our flight back to Fortaleza, Paola's mother made everybody almost pee their pants when she stuffed hour bags with cerial boxes and whisky bottles among other things. Like she said, we had a long trip ahead of us and we needed to be prepared. At first we thought she was joking, then realised, she was dead serious. One of the funnier women I've ever met. We did accept some oranges though and cookies and went our way after thanking tham for their hospitality.
And then back to Fortaleza after many hours of flying and changing planes, no straight fly. We took then a bus to the wonderful beach Jericoacoar. There is literally a town ON the beach. Just sandals or nothing. No high heals or any kind of that bullshit. Bikini and kanga. There we drank overloads of caipirinhas and relaxed perfectly before entering again the real world.

So that was that. I really saw and learned alot from this trip.

I want to go back.

There's always another time. Now is time to work. A different kind of adventure.

America du Sul. Obrigado. Gracias.
