Rio de janeiro

Your lovely traveler is now in Rio de Janeiro. I enjoyed Salvador alot. That city is without a doubt the most beautiful of all the bigger cities I´ve seen in Brazil. We stayed in in this silly little hotel just by the beach which was strangely cheaper than all the hostels over there. We celebrated this annual fiesta Sao Joao or something in that area. Live music caipirinhas and cakes on the street and loads of people having a good time the whole weekend. The only thing that was off about this wonderful place was the pushy people on the street. It´s like the people get more agressive the souther you go in Brazil. People literally follow you to wait for you to give them some money.
After Salvador we flyed to Rio de Janeiro. Our flight was at 4:20 in the morning so that night we hardly got any sleep. We arrived in a domestic airport so of course there was no tourist info in sight. So we decided to take the bus to Cobacobana, the most well known beach in the city, and start walking around to find a hostel. Everything was rediculously expensive and we ended up walking for about 3 hours looking for something with all our stuff on the back and resless from a sleepless night. Luckely we ran into one woman who was renting an appartment to tourists for a cheaper price than a room in a hostel. Of course we took the offer and are now staying in a very cozy place just by Ipanema beach. Rio is very beautiful and really too many things to see.

So this is it for now. The city is waiting for me.

Hæ elsku Birna!
Farðu varlega, ekki vera skotmark. Engar handtöskur. :)
Farðu á hippamarkaðinn í Ipanema, Jesússtyttuna, götupartí í Lapa og líka að skoða Santa Teresa. Gaman gaman. :) Annars finnur þú örugglega út úr þessu sjálf.
Við Ásdís vorum á hosteli sem heitir Stona of a beach, á Copacabana, þar er líka ágætur hostelbar á topphæðinni.

Sakna þín!
